Luke 18:24-25
(Luke 18:24-25)
『And when Jesus saw that
he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter
into the kingdom of God! For
it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to
enter into the kingdom of God. 』
This is also recorded
in the Gospels of Matthew and Mark. Man was made in the image of God. What
makes humans different from beasts is their longing for eternal things. The
rich young man asked Jesus how to obtain eternal life. The Bible tells us that
not only the rich young man, but everyone is good. The rich young man told
Jesus that he was a good teacher. But Jesus replied that there is nothing but
God who is good.
All beings who do not
obey God's Word are not good. All beings of disobedience become evil ones. It is
said that the disobedient angels in the kingdom of God are evil, and Adam and
Eve who failed to keep God's command in the Garden of Eden are evil.
Jesus told the rich
young man five of the Ten Commandments that correspond to humans: "Do not
commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not testify falsely, honor
your parents, because you know the commandments." The remaining five are
words to God. He told them not to make idols for themselves. Those who do not
obey the word of God are those who make idols for themselves. The reason for
making idols is not for idols, but for yourself. He also spoke of rest.
Today, the Sabbath is
considered the day off of the week. But for humans, rest is not a concept of
rest, but a concept given to God in Christ. It is not one day, but always rest
in Christ. That's why people don't know the concept of sabbath by themselves
saying that they should keep the Sabbath. We can see that we are thinking
human-centered, not God-centered, of those who keep the Sabbath. That is why
the word Sunday is not correct. The day of the Lord will be the day of the Lord
every day for those who are in Christ.
The rich young man
replied that he had kept all five commandments Jesus said. In Luke 18:22, ``Now
when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing:
sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have
treasure in heaven: and come, follow. me. "The rich young man was young,
but he must have been an official at the time. This man also had faith. But
what Jesus said to the rich young man was about covetousness. It means that
humans cannot pursue eternal life and the things of this world at the same
time. If he pursues eternal life and the things of this world at the same time,
he becomes a person who does not give up his greed. The Bible tells us that the
priority, not much or little, of wealth should be God.
The life I am my
master cannot be saved. All the twelve disciples of Jesus ran away from the
cross. This means that the disciples themselves are masters. Life in which they
themselves are masters cannot escape from sin. Even if they say that their sins
have been forgiven, they continue to sin again. Salvation is the transformation
from a life in which one is the master to a life in which Christ is the master.
Salvation comes from darkness to light. It is being transferred from the world
to the kingdom of God. Today, although they believe in Jesus and think they are
saved, if they still live in darkness, they will become unrepentant. Those who
still love the world in the world cannot be saved. This is because the love of
the world has greed.
