Luke 17:30-37

(Luke 17:30-37)

Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.  In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.  Remember Lot's wife. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it. I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

The age we live in may be the end of history. We are living in a time when the Lord can return. The prophetic book will no longer be a prophetic book, but a history book. The above words speak of the phenomenon of the day when the Lord will come. But salvation is no different from the present or the day of the Lord's Second Coming. Today, sometimes we can see the Adventist belief in preparation for the Second Coming, and it looks like a man under the law. Salvation is now and like Lot's time recorded in Genesis.

In the days of Lot, Sodom and Aunt were obscene and wicked places. Lot's family avoided it and won. So God sent angels to destroy the city of Sodom, who delivered those who should not be destroyed first. He delivered Lot, his wife, and her two daughters. Lot's son-in-law considered it a joke. The angels did not help them. It was midnight. The angel pulled them out, ``You cannot destroy them until you reach the castle. I will destroy Sodom Castle only after entering. He said, Do not look back, do not stay, go on. They would have lived in Sodom for decades. On that day, angels entered Lot's house, and people surrounded the house. Lot and his family said that the sun rose after reaching Soal Castle. But Lot's wife looked back.

Using Lot's wife as a lesson, he may decide, "We will not look back," but there is already a decision to look back. For salvation is because the present is the past and the situation of the future. Because those who can look back in the future are those who do not deny themselves now. Salvation on the day when the Lord comes again and in the field of life we live every day today is the same. So to say, "Prepare for the end" is meaningless.

Salvation does not stop and does not look back. Salvation comes only when you come to the Lord. The apostle Paul said, "Have faith without lies." Today, there is a lot of danger of falling into false beliefs, because many people say that if they confess their sins without denying themselves and believe that Jesus died on the cross for me, they are saved. Faith is the faith we have built up and the faith that comes from the Lord. The faith we have built up is nothing more than a belief that can collapse if the situation is reversed. Just as the light shined on the young Saul in Damascus, salvation can only come from shining in the dark. The light shining on Saul blinded the body.

Peter experienced many miracles that humans cannot. He walked on the water, ate the miracle bread, and witnessed the dead Lazarus alive. He was one of the three who saw Moses and Elijah come down to this earth. Jesus said that he would die that day as well. When Jesus saw this miracle, he said, "You believe it, but it is a life that does not change." "Tonight you will all abandon me." Then they said energetically, "I will never abandon you even if I will go to prison with me." People think of these words as belief. This is nothing but the faith that people have built up.

Those who repent will have to repent, saying, "Are we all forsaking the Lord?" You can experience miracles without repenting. Even those who do not repent, if they pray and ask for prayer, the Lord will listen to them as if they asked an unrighteous judge. But this is not salvation. Many church people today emphasize experience and consider it the basis of salvation. Only those who are born again with water and the Holy Spirit are saved. Salvation is when the old person (self) dies in the water and a new person is born through the Holy Spirit.
