Luke 22:28-30

(Luke 22:28-30) Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations. And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;  That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Before saying this, the disciples argued, "Who is great?" Jesus says, ``The one who serves is great.'' The quarrel of ``Who is great?'' begins with Rebekah's stomach. The two nations quarrel in the womb. God said to Rebekah, "The great will serve the little." This becomes the kingdom of God on this earth. The Lord said that he entrusted the kingdom of God to the disciples who always went through all the tests together. But they weren't ready. Especially to Peter, Jesus calls his former name Simon. It is a saying that Satan will cause Peter to fall. But Jesus is urging Peter to turn and strengthen his brothers.

The word Faith is lost appears four times in the New Testament. I'm not saying that faith is getting smaller, it's about falling. But it means that the Lord prayed so that the disciples would not do that. As the disciples were crossing the Sea of Galilee, a storm broke out. Jesus, who went to pray on the mountain, was suddenly standing on a storm. Then Peter said, "If you are the Lord, command me to come." Who can come out of the storm? Peter had knowledge, experience, and a great faith beyond all.

Only Peter went to the storm. Like Jesus, Peter walked on the water. The disciples were watching. Peter knew that by looking only at the Lord, he became like the Lord. But he also discovered that he could not look to the Lord until the end in this body. The moment he looks at the storm, he falls into the water. At some point, the flesh "falls in faith". Three years later, Jesus said to Peter again, "Satan demanded that you be made like wheat." As Satan did to Job, he did it to Peter.

Even though Job was deprived of his success, happiness, and health, he confessed, "The one who gave him is God, and the one who takes him is God, but he worships God." His faith did not fall, but Job's wife accused him of saying, "Rather curse God and die." Even then, Job did not fall. Afterwards, his friends came and cried seven days and nights. By this feeling, Job breaks down on his own. This is called humanism. He lost confidence in the Lord and fell, saying, "I will curse the day I was born." In this way, the flesh received from parents cannot keep the faith they had in the beginning until the end.

What Peter or Job realized was that they must turn to God. So Job wakes up by his friends' criticism. Job's transgressions are revealed by their criticism. So, the Lord made Job repent. Job hated himself and confessed, "In the midst of dust and me, I repent." It is difficult for those who are successful, healthy, and happy in the world to understand the meaning of repentance, because sinfulness (old man) is revealed in failure and suffering. So, those who repent look only at the Lord.
