Luke 22:19-20
(Luke 22:19-20)And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying,
This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup after supper,
saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
This is what
you say when you partake of the sacrament. After the order forms the body of
the Lord, the word new covenant appears. Matthew 26:28 says, ``For this is my
blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
The Jews waited for the Messiah. Even today, Judaism awaits the Messiah, observes
the Sabbath, and practices circumcision. They are living with importance to the
covenant Moses received on Mount Sinai.
The disciples
of Jesus said in 2 Corinthians 3:6, Who also hath made us able ministers of the
new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth,
but the spirit giveth life. The Apostle Paul was a worker of the old covenant
until he met Jesus in Damascus. But now Paul is a worker of the new covenant.
The new covenant is not inscribed with the law, but with the spirit. For
example, looking at the Bible and saying “I
should live that way” could be an old covenant. It is
legal to respond to the letters (regulations) written in the Bible. Through
that writing, it is the new covenant that makes the Holy Spirit respond to our
hearts. In 2 Corinthians 3:3, Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the
epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit
of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. 』
The Bible
said that the new covenant was the office of the spirit, and what was written
on the tablets was the office of condemnation that caused death. However, the
office of the spirit was also said to be the office of saving righteousness.
The new covenant is the blood of the new covenant. It is the blood of the old
covenant that is established with the blood of the beast. Jeremiah 31:31 says,
``Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with
the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: He said he was being dragged.
But when I come to verse 31:1, ``At the same time, saith the LORD, will I be
the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.』
Regarding
this new covenant, "Not according to the covenant that I made with their
fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land
of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them,
saith the LORD: 』
Jeremiah 31:33 says, "But this shall be the covenant that I will make with
the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in
their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and
they shall be my people. 』
These words are not kept in the wilderness, but are kept in Canaan. However,
the old man who heard the words of the ten spies who said, "If we enter
Canaan, we will die," and believed all of them, did not enter Canaan and
was under the law of condemnation.
A new man
born in the wilderness enters Canaan. The Ten Commandments appear in Exodus,
but also in Deuteronomy. Exodus is what the old people heard from Exodus and
crossed the Red Sea, and Deuteronomy is what the new people born in the
wilderness heard. In Deuteronomy 1:3, 『And
it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day
of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all
that the LORD had given him in commandment. unto them; 』``Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation
see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,'' in 1:35,
``Doubtless ye shall not come into'' in Numbers 14:30. the land, concerning
which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and
Joshua the son of Nun. I said. This is what came under God's judgment.
In Romans
8:1-2, 『There is therefore now no condemnation to them which
are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For
the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of
sin and death. So, the Bible defines a person who is in Christ Jesus, and those
who do not follow the body but follow the Spirit become those who are in Christ
Jesus. Most churches today say that if they believe in Jesus, they are in
Christ Jesus, but those who follow the flesh are not in Christ Jesus. 『For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free
from the law of sin and death. 』
