Luke 22:47-53
(Luke 22:47-53) And while he yet spake,
behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went
before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him. But Jesus said unto him, Judas,
betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss? When they which were about him saw
what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword? And one of them smote the servant of
the high priest, and cut off his right ear. And Jesus answered
and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him. Then Jesus said unto the chief
priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be
ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves? When I was daily with you in the
temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the
power of darkness.
Peter knew
that God revealed that "Jesus is the Son of God." Still, the soul
from the body does not change. Many churches may also believe and follow
"in the way Peter cuts the soldier's ear with a sword." The Bible
describes this as "the flesh." If we live in the flesh, the spirit
will surely die. Even though many people see and learn the miracles of the
Lord, they do not have faith to follow the death of the cross.
This is in Galatians
3:23, 『But before faith came, we were kept under the law,
shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 』 As for the state before faith came, Peter saw the miracle of Jesus'
five sickness, experienced the miracle of walking on a storm, witnessed the
amazing sight of the mountain of transformation, heard the word of God's
kingdom, and believed in Jesus. 『Before Faith Comes』 is a state in which internal change has not occurred. That is why
Jesus said, “You cannot follow me.” “After that, you can follow me.” “After that” is “after the inner change is made.” It is the saying that those who have undergone internal
transformation can follow the death of the cross.
He wants to avoid the
death of the cross before the inner transformation takes place. The Bible says
that this life is "the flesh." The soul that is born of the body
cannot be saved. Only 『Spirit』 is saved. In John 6:63『 It is the spirit that
quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they
are spirit, and they are life. 』
The physical
thing must be removed. This is repentance. Not repenting is not that
sanctification has not been made, but salvation has not begun. Those who killed
Jesus were those entrusted with the law waiting for the Messiah. It means that
before faith came, all were bound under the law. Those who realize this are
those who repent. In many churches today, even if you receive prayer and
experience the Holy Spirit, you cannot be considered repentant if you are
filled with physical thoughts. There are two types of people. Those who forsook
Jesus on the cross and those who die with Jesus. Those who do not repent are
those who eventually forsake Jesus.
In Galatians
3:24, wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we
might be justified by faith. 』
Those who follow the law cannot be united with Jesus. They are those who
forsake Jesus. However, through this law, if you realize that “I was the one who forsaken Jesus”, you can
also realize that “I was under the law”. This means that the law becomes an elementary school teacher. So
we can repent and break out of the law and be united with Jesus. In many
churches today, those who are under the law are living the religious life they
want. We must realize that if we are not united with the cross of Jesus, we can
be a thrower of Jesus. That is why he is under the law. The only way to unite
with Jesus on the cross is self-denial repentance. Peter, who denied Jesus, was
also trapped under the law. So, he had no choice but to abandon Jesus.
In Galatians
3:25, ``But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
"" means "repentant and united with Jesus on the cross" and
is a person who deviates from the law. Many people think they are saved because
they believe in Jesus. That faith is the faith that the law guides. So, they
have never been associated with Jesus on the Cross. They just listen to Jesus
and follow him, but they wonder, "Are they really saved?" If they did
not repent and were not united with the cross of Jesus, they had never been
saved. The way to unite with the cross of Jesus is the way of self-denial who
does not love the world.
